Bangladesh Is small country. It came into being on the 16TH december,1971.It has area of about 149000 square kilometres.The population of Bangladesh is about 16 crore.Bangladesh is surrounded by Indian territory on three sides and the Bay of Bangal is situated on the south. Bangladesh is a plain country except the hilly regions of Sylhet and Chittagong Hill Tract.                         

  Bangladesh is an agricultural country. Most of the people are cultivators. They live in villages. Jute is the main cash crop of Bangladesh. Bangladesh has 68,000villages where about eighty percent of our people live. So it is clear that welfare of the country depends upon the welfare of these villages.
